What does freedom mean to you?
Dear Readers,
Today is the 75th Independence Day. A day to celebrate freedom from oppression - a day to take a moment to self-reflect and ask ourselves: What does freedom mean to me?
It’s a question that evokes all sorts of emotions in us. It’s been 75 years since we won our independence from the Britishers. Since then, we’ve fought many battles, many fights against all types of prejudices, discriminations, and injustices in society and we still are fighting to this day.
But when you think about what freedom actually means to you, it’s far more personal and intimate. We all are fighting battles that we can’t see, that don’t leave visible scars and we all want freedom from these fights. Yet, it’s different for everyone!
Let us ask you again, what does freedom mean to you? Does it mean to live your truth - to be you, openly and honestly? Does it mean to accept your flaws and love yourself? Is it on the lines of leaving your dead-end job and following your passion or break free from a toxic relationship? Maybe to break the self-imposed boundaries and high expectations that we take too seriously? Does it mean to stop being harsh on yourself and get rid of your insecurities?
Freedom is different for everyone and the road that leads to it is seldom easy. But we urge you. We urge you to keep asking yourself what freedom means to you and to walk the path that leads to it. Because society is free only when the people living in it are free.
Now let’s have a look at a few exciting things that happened this week!
